(QCF) Qualification & Credit Framework

What is QCF? – in short it is a review of vocational and competence qualifications. The QCF was previously known as NVQ’s and VRQ’s, but have now been changed and updated to  allow for future flexibility for employers and learners alike.

This process has meant that in 2010 all qualifications have been reviewed and rewritten to reflect current industries needs.

One of the principles behind the new QCF system is to allow for greater flexibility so that employers can develop qualifications that meet their own organisational needs rather than having to work within the restraints of an industry award or NVQ as in the past.

Serac UK is already working with clients to take advantage of the opportunities that the QCF will provide by providing the following services:

• Consultancy to develop employer qualifications – either by adapting existing qualifications or by developing new ones
• Matching organisational competence requirements to the QCF and developing new QCF where required
• Providing training to client personnel to explain the requirements of QCF
• Training and assessing in-company personnel in how to assess the QCF
