IOSH Supervising Safely Course Aims
This IOSH Accredited Course has been designed and written by Serac UK and is designed to provide personnel with an increased awareness of Health & Safety issues, knowledge and skills required to supervise management health & safety in the Extractives Industry.
Learning Objectives of the IOSH Supervising Safely Course
The course learning objectives are that by the end of the course the learner will:

Understand the role of the supervisor in managing safety

Have gained a working knowledgeof relevant health and safety legislation, with specific emphasis placed on the Quarry Regulations 1999

Have an understanding of the principles of accident causation and how accidents can be prevented

Be able to recognise and correct unsafe behaviour
-
Have an understanding of the meaning and the practical application of the terms, Risk Assessment, safe system of work, method statement and permit to work

Have an increased ability to recognise and categorise a range of common quarry hazards
-
Understand the requirements for and the principles and types of workplace inspections suitable for quarries

Be able to carry out simple risk assessments and identify risk control measures
