One-to-one training is the most common form of training.
Once registered with SERAC the candidate attends a two part 1 day introduction course which covers:
• The background to NVQs, the relevant regulations and procedures, and assessment techniques.
• An introduction to the trainee assessors’ NVQ.
• The A1 award, which includes planning for their own assessment, and the assessment of their own candidates.
Fast Track Training
A four day training course which includes classroom training in assessment knowledge and then the practical application of this knowledge through the assessment of NVQ candidates.
Health and Safety Training
It is a requirement for a number of awards that the assessor either holds a relevant Health and Safety qualification, or alternatively attends approved training.
SERAC runs courses to provide assessors with the necessary Health and Safety knowledge to assess NVQs.
